Berry Picking

You cannot live in Oregon without doing some serious berry picking. OK, I guess you can, but it is such a delightful way to spend a few hours. This summer a group of moms gathered our boys and headed out to our local strawberry/raspberry patch. The activity was great for a group of boys who were running around trying to fill their buckets to the very top.

We picked at Antonio's Farm in Talent, Oregon.

And what do you make with all those berries? Well we chose to freeze most of them for the winter, but we did make ice cream and fruit leathers!!

Recipe:
Stir 2 cups whole milk, 1 1/2 heavy cream, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tbs vanilla, 1 tbs lemon juice. Add to ice cream maker. When ice cream is at desired consistency, add strawberries. Freeze! EAT!!!!!
